The National Trust contacted me as they wanted to commemorate PRIDE with a large outdoor balloon decoration at their Felbrigg Hall site.
As they wanted the decoration to be installed outside and exposed to the elements for 5 days I suggested a large latex balloon arch mounted on the aeropole arch kit.
The aeropole is a specialist arch kit that can withstand very strong winds due to it’s fibre glass rods and heavy Aluminium base plates.
To really theme this decoration for PRIDE I chose a full rainbow palette of latex balloons from the Sempertex balloon company.
The build of this arch is not the same as a traditional balloon arch that uses up to 4 colours. This arch uses a specialist technique to fit 6 colours in a spiral organic pattern for the larger latex balloons.
This technique allows the decorator to carry the 6 colours round the frame in complete uniformity.
After 5 days the decoration had suffered some weathering and bird attacks but the feedback from staff was excellent and they said the decoration was well received by the general public.
